A 30 minute drive to the largest lake in the Black Forest and highest reservoir in Germany. Our attention was drawn to the brightly colored paddle and electric boats dotting the shore.
We found a patch of grass above the rocky beach, perfect to consume our picnic lunch, thoughtfully prepared by Den.
Raleigh finds friends where ever he lands.
Electric boats, paddle boats, sail boats, row boats…….all staring at us as we ate. The girls excited to venture out on their own……..almost on their own, little brother refuses to be left behind. The captain of the ships strapped Raleigh snuggly into his life jacket before departure.
I watched them through my zoom lens until they were just a dot on the lake. I glanced up to the hill and saw that Den was fast asleep. I try to nap but there are too many people to observe. I decide it makes me feel safe to watch the little dot on the lake that represents our four sweethearts. One of the things I love to pray for our children is for their spouses. I’ve done this since before they were born. I like to think that somewhere in the world God is preparing someone special for each of them. The three girls are so tightly woven that it will take someone with a generous heart, for he will forever be sharing his wife with her two sisters. Doug, my sister’s husband and Den know this well and handle our sister-bond very graciously. We tell our girls to set their expectations high. I am thankful Den is an amazing example of what a good husband and father is.
Jeremiah 29:11– “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

Oh how I love seeing their joy! We had lots of joy here today as Annie’s postcard arrived from Paris on Larissa’s birthday. To say the girls were excited would be the understatement of the year. Love and miss you all soooooo much.
